Jewellery Care

Jewellery Care

Our jewellery is made to treasure for many years to come, but all 92.5 Sterling Silver jewellery will naturally tarnish over time and will require cleaning to restore shine. It’s also a good idea to protect your jewellery from knocks, scratches, chemicals and sunlight.

We recommend to:

  • Remove jewellery when showering, bathing, swimming or at the beach.

  • Avoid wearing your jewellery when doing physical work or cleaning.

  • Avoid contact with chemicals, perfume, hairspray, makeup and remove your jewellery when applying lotion.

  • Keep your jewellery away from extreme temperatures and humidity.

  • Use a silver polishing cloth regularly to keep your jewellery sparkly.

Each gemstone is completely unique little gift from our Mother Earth. Please take care of your gemstone by following the above guidelines and also cleansing them regularly. You can cleanse your gemstones in a number of ways; our favourites include smudging, leaving them out under the Full Moon and white light visualisation. You may also like to use salt water to cleanse your crystals, but please be aware that this process shouldn’t be used with gemstones that end in ‘ite’ or gemstones that are below 6 on the Mohs hardness scale.

To clean your jewellery, create a solution of mild soap and warm water in a bowl. Gently buff small sections of the jewellery, taking care not to touch the gemstone. Rinse and dry to complete the process. We advise cleaning your precious stones with a clean, soft, damp cloth after wearing. Very porous stones (such as Turquoise, Onyx and Opal)  should be cleaned using an untreated, dry, soft cloth only. If your jewellery is heavily tarnished we would recommend professional jewellery cleaning. Please keep in mind that you don’t want to use chemical cleaning as this might damage your jewellery.

If you have any questions about caring for your jewellery, please do not hesitate to ask.
